IEEE NPSS Young Professionals Symposium - Tuesday June 21 Evening
The purpose of the poster symposium is to help connecting and enhancing interactions among young professionals and potential employers. All students and young researchers (defined as less than 10 years after the completion of Bachelor degree) who submit abstract to ICOPS 2016 are invited to present in this poster symposium but they can also present at the regular ICOPS oral and poster sessions in addition. The event will be opened to all ICOPS attendees but special efforts will be made to invite potential employers to be there to meet with students and young researchers to facilitate potential job interviews and hiring at or after ICOPS. We encourage the your professionals to bring with them a CV so that it is available upon requested. Buffet style light dinner and drinks will be served at the event.
Dr. Kevin Ilcisin will give an opening keynote at Tuesday evening's IEEE NPSS Young Professionals event. Dr. Ilcisin will share with the audience how graduating with a Plasma Physics degree evolves into a lifetime of exciting, challenging and sometimes scary career adventures.
Dr. Ilcisin is currently the Vice President, Product Marketing at National Instruments Corporation which equips engineers and scientists with the systems that accelerate productivity, innovation, and discovery. Prior to joining National Instruments in 2015, he served as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Tektronix. He has also held technical leadership roles at LAM Research/Novellus, and was a co-founder of Technical Visions. He is the inventor or co-inventor of 42 US and foreign patents and co-author of numerous papers. Dr. Ilcisin holds doctorate and master's degrees in Plasma Physics from Princeton University and bachelor's degrees with distinction and the APPEGA Gold Medal in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.
